Rural Hastings Advocate is a hyperlocal news source for southwestern Hastings County. The Advocate covers political issues in the county including live blogs for county council meetings. It seeks to give a voice to everyone, providing a place for the thoughts of community leaders as well as those who are often over-looked in society.
Jennifer Bowman is a freelance multimedia journalist. She is a reporter for print, radio, TV, and online news sources such as the Canadian Press, Our Kingston, and QNet News, as well as local radio stations such as Quinte Broadcasting (Mix 97, Rock 107, CJBQ) and 91X News. She is particularly interested in providing a voice for rural areas.
